To obtain information regarding the date a divorce decree has been signed, the volume and page of the order, and the number of pages contained in the order, have your case number ready before calling (713) 755-5758. There is a $5.00 service fee for obtaining this information.

When requesting copies by mail, please specify on the envelope whether the request is for the Civil or Family Division.

Please include the case/cause number and the document or documents you would like copies of. If the case/cause number is not known, please include an additional $5.00 for a record search.

We accept cashier's checks and money orders made payable to Theresa Chang, Harris County District Clerk. Please ensure that all names are spelled correctly as listed here on your check. Please note: If payment is by credit card, the following information is needed to comply with your request: name, credit card type, credit card number, expiration date, and statement allowing the District Clerk to charge your credit card for the transaction not to exceed _____. Request must be signed by cardholder.

If you wish to purchase copies of public records in person, you may do so between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday in the Civil Customer Service Section, second floor, Room 210, Civil Courthouse, 201 Caroline.
