In Civil Intake, the Fee Windows handle walk-in customers who wish to file
civil lawsuits including name changes, transfers of venue, and expunctions.
The Fee Windows also accepts Civil/Family Post Trial documents and additional/amended filings.
| Service |

Once a request is placed with the District Clerkâs Office for issuance of service,
the fee is assessed and the service is assigned to the proper party.
The cost to prepare a service document is $8.00.
Service documents requiring service via private process, attorney, etc. are picked up at the Bond window.
| Transfers/Multi-District Litigation (MDL) |

Cases (Causes) transferred to Harris County and MDL transfers are processed in Civil Intake.
The incoming transfer case (cause) is docketed, entered, and routed to the assigned court.
| Bonds |
|
Fees are accepted for bonds at the Bond Window. Bonds are prepared by court order.
| Tax Filing |
|
Tax Suits are assessed, validated and entered by the Civil Intake Department.
The file is then forwarded to the Tax Court Clerk for docketing.
