Customer Service

Customer Service provides assistance related to criminal, civil and family cases (causes). This section is responsible for receiving and processing incoming customer requests including purchasing copies and reports and filing documents in existing cases (causes).

• Purchase Copies (certified, non-certified, or exemplified)
• JIMS report
• Obtain a Criminal Background Check aka Certificate/Letter of Disposition or No Records Letter
  • Purchase at any Customer Service location or call 713-755-7300.
  • Governmental agencies may perform background checks online through the Governmental Agencies Quick Link.

Criminal

The following are handled in the Criminal Customer Service area:

• File documents related to a Criminal case/cause (motions, subpoenas, search warrant returns, etc.)
• File a Petition for Non-Disclosure
• File a Petition for an Occupational/Restricted Drivers License
• File an Affidavit of Surety to Surrender

Civil and Family One Stop

The following are handled in our Civil and Family One Stop location; where you can request copies and file documents in one location-ONE STOP:

• File no fee documents related to a Civil case/cause (motions, service returns, etc.)
• Obtain a Certificate of Name Change
• Obtain an Affidavit of No Record
• Obtain a Certificate of No Appeal
• Obtain an Affidavit of Dormant Judgments
• File attorney address updates and vacation schedules
• Release of Surety Bonds posted before July 2003
