Harris County is a member of the Texas County and District Retirement System. Employees are eligible for retirement when
their age + service = 75 or when they reach age 60 with 8 years of service or when they attain 30 or more years of creditable
service at any age.
District Clerk employees are members of the Texas County and District Retirement System (TCDRS). There is a 7% mandatory
deduction per pay period. After eight years of service you become vested with Harris County. The money in your TCDRS account
works for your future, earning interest at a rate mandated by the Texas Legislature.
