District Clerk Loren Jackson
Loren Jackson was elected Harris County District Clerk on November 4, 2008 to an unexpired term and became
District Clerk upon taking the Oath of Office on November 18, 2008. He attended the U.S. Military at
West Point and Texas A&M University and then received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
As a Litigation Attorney, Loren worked for a firm in Houston where he focused on Commercial, Mass Tort, and
Environmental Litigation. Loren is actively involved in several professional, civic, and charitable activities
throughout Harris County and has been recognized for his service. Loren is also on the Board of Directors for
the Downtown Houston YMCA. He has been a member of the Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession and the
Habitat for Humanity Committees with the Houston Bar Association. Further, Loren is an actor in the Houston Bar
Association’s annual “Night Court” production, which raises much-needed charitable funds. Further, Loren was
selected by the Houston Jaycees as a recipient of one of its 2009 Five Outstanding Young Houstonians Awards.
Loren and his wife Laura, a Speech Pathologist and lifelong-Houstonian, reside in North Houston and are
active members of Houston’s First Baptist Church.
Since taking office, the Harris County District Clerk’s office has developed new and nationally innovative technologies
that are helping to make the practice of law in Harris County more automated and efficient and have thrust Harris County
into a national leadership role in technological innovation.
